Reporting administratively to the Regional Manager and functionally to the Senior Administration Officer, the job holder will be responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services and ensuring safety of Agency vehicles assigned by:
a) Carrying out driving responsibilities and general maintenance of the vehicle assigned;
b) Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil electrical and brake systems;
c) Maintains work tickets for the vehicles assigned;
d) Ensures safe transportation of the Agency personnel and/or goods as per instructions;
e) Detects and reports malfunctioning of vehicles system;
f) Monitors and reports vehicle service and insurance schedule;
g) Ensures cleanliness of the vehicle;
h) Reports incidents and accidents as soon as they occur as per Human Resource policy;
i) Operates the Agency vehicle in a safe and effective manner in compliance with traffic rules and regulations;
j) Ensures security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road;
k) Maintains passenger confidence by keeping information strictly confidential.
l) Collecting, sorting and delivery of mail and/or parcel to and from the post office and various offices on a regular basis;
In the execution of this assignment, the Driver will be expected to ensure and uphold exemplary corporate Governance in line with the organization’s core values and promote a robust performance-driven culture.
a) Academic and Professional Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications: –
(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade of D+ (Plus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
(ii) Valid driving license (Class B, C, E).
b) Related Job Experience
Must have at least four (4) years relevant work experience (Class B, C, E).
c) Knowledge Skills and Competencies
The candidate must possess the following skills and competencies: –
(i) Oral and written communication skills;
(ii) Meet the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya;
(iii) Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
