Overall responsibility
The overall responsibility for the position will be directing, coordinating, control and management of the Agency’s technical operations for the development and maintenance of sewerage and sanitation works in line with the Agency’s mandate as defined in the Water Act 2016.
Duties and responsibilities
• Coordinate the Division’s operations and administration to ensure that the various departmental units operate in conformity with the overall operational plans and performance targets.
• Provide leadership in the development, review, and implementation of the strategies, short- and long-term development plans, investment plans, business plans, and operating budgets;
• Coordinate the construction and maintenance of sewerage and sanitation infrastructure
• Oversee the establishment of proper divisional monitoring and control systems and procedures
• Guides the development of divisional performance standards together with mechanisms for ensuring compliance therewith.
• Coordinate development and maintain networks and partnerships for successful project implementation
• Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good Corporate citizenship
• Coordinate development of technical standards and criteria to guide implementation of projects
• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time
Job requirements
Applicants will be required to be holders of:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Water Engineering, Wastewater Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or its Equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
• Membership to a professional body
• Experience and training in Project Management
• Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya
• Experience with International Development Institutions in developing countries including a satisfactory knowledge of their operational policies and procedures
• Experience in the sanitation sector will be an added advantage.
• Have at least a minimum period of Ten (10) years relevant work experience Five (5) years of which should be in a supervisory position.
• Experience in the water sector will be an added advantage
