Job Description

Tutorial Fellow (2 positions each)
The purpose of this position is to carry out teaching roles, student mentoring, research and other duties in liaison with the university’s overall goal.
1. Home Science– Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/20/2023)
2. Physical Education –Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/21/2023)
3. Agriculture – Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/22/2023)
4. Chemistry – Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/23/2023)
5. Biology - Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/24/2023)

Duties and Responsibilities
• To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department and reviewed from time to time by the Head of Department.
• Supervise or assist with supervision of any research studies, attachment and teaching practice undertaken by the students.
• Providing mentorship and career guidance to students
• Participate in the development, administration and marking of examinations and other assessments
• To handle students’ grievances that relate to their learning needs.
• Any other duty assigned by your supervisor

Minimum qualifications
Home Science
• Masters of Education (Home Economics) degree/MSc. Home Economics from a recognized/accredited University in the relevant field
• Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree with Home Science from a recognized/accredited University in the relevant field
• At least three years post qualification work experience
• Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research.
• Commitment to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students

Physical Education
• Master’s of Education degree (Physical Education/Sports Science) from a recognized/accredited University.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Education (Arts) from a recognized/accredited University in the relevant field.
• At least three years post qualification work experience
• Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research.

Agriculture
• Masters of Science (Agriculture or Agronomy) from a recognized/accredited University.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education and Extension from a recognized/accredited University.
• At least three years post qualification work experience
• Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research.
• Commitment to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students

Chemistry
• Masters of Science (Chemistry) from a recognized/accredited University plus at least three years post qualification work experience
• Bachelor of Education (Science) degree from a recognized/accredited University in the relevant field.
• At least three years post qualification work experience
• Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research.

Biology
• Master of Science (Botany) or Master of Science (Zoology) degree from a recognized/accredited University.
• Bachelor of Education (Science) degree from a recognized/accredited University in the relevant field
