Senior Lecturer (Ref: ZU/10/Adv/18/2023)
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to Dean -School of Education, Arts and Social Sciences, the position holder will be responsible for the following, amongst others:
• To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department and reviewed from time to time by the Head of Department.
• Design, develop, plan and deliver a range of programs of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
• Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required
• Monitor the quality of courses to ensure relevance.
• Determine relevant research objectives and prepare research proposals.
• Contribute to the development of research strategies.
• Present research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the development of research activity.
• Student and staff mentorship in research.
Qualification & Experience
• PhD/D.Sc./D.Ed. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area from recognized/accredited university.
• At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow or 6 years research/ industry experience
• A minimum of thirty-two publications as a Lecturer/Research Fellow of which twenty-four (24) should be refereed journal articles
• Supervised at least 3 postgraduate students to completion
• Attracted research funds as a Lecturer/Research Fellow
• Registered by a relevant Professional Body
• Attended and Contributed at Academic conferences, seminars or workshops
• Evidence of Contribution to University life through active participation in departmental and school matters or meetings, students’ academic advising and committee membership among others
