Job Description
This employee will be the head of the Human Resource and Administration Department and will be
responsible to the Managing Director
Job Descriptions
(i) Advising the Board on all Human Resource and Administration related matters in
the Company
(ii) Formulating and aligning the Human Resource strategies to the Organizational
strategy;
(iii) Preparation of the Human Resources Agenda for the Board;
(iv) Implementation of Board’s decision in all matters pertaining to Human Resource
and Administration;
(v) Reviewing and revising all HR and Administration policies, procedures and
organizational structure
(vi) implementation of human resources and Administration polices rules and
regulations;
(vii) Analyzing utilization of the human resource in the Company and advising on proper
deployment, staff performance, career progression; and making appropriate
recommendations and proposals on human resource planning and succession
management.
(viii) Responsible for ensuring correct interpretation and implementation of human
resource policies rules & regulations, including those relating to pensions, salaries,
labour laws and other related statutes;
(ix) Putting in place performance Management Systems including a Human Resource
Information Management System
(x) Guide, mentor and supervise staff working under him/her
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Business
Administration or other social sciences from recognized institutions
2. Must be a registered member of Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and
in good standing
3. Must be a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP)
4. A postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management is an added advantage.
5. At least 5 years of experience in a busy HR environment with 2years in a supervisory
position. Experience in Water Company will be an added advantage
6. Must be well conversant with the labor laws and ethical HR practices.
7. Good understanding and application of employment legislation and practices
8. Good ICT skills including good working knowledge with Ms. Office suite and human
resource and other management systems.
9. Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and
Integrity.
