Job Description

SENIOR RECORDS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, JOB GRADE CLE 6 - JOB-063/2024 - (1)
POSITION

a) Job Specifications
The functions of the Records Management Officer shall be to:
i. Collaborating with the Principal Records Management Officer in the development
and implementation of records management policies and procedures;
ii. Collaborating with Divisional staff to identify and assess records management needs;
iii. Providing training and support to staff on records management best practices;
iv. Contributing to the design and maintenance of the institution's records management
system;
v. Conducting regular reviews of records to ensure compliance with established policies
and standards;
vi. Collaborating with the Principal Records Management Officer in the disposal process
of obsolete records, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements;
vii. Supporting the digitization process for records, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and
security of electronic records;
viii. Conducting audits and assessments to monitor compliance with records
management practices;
ix. Acting as a point of contact for staff inquiries related to records management; and
x. Collaborating with the Principal Records Management Officer in preparing reports
and presentations on records management activities.

b) Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have
i. Bachelors Degree in Records Management, Information Management, Information
Science Library Science, or its equivalent from a recognized Institution;
ii. A minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have
been at the level Records Management Officer I or its equivalent;
iii.Proficiency in computer applications; and
iv. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Terms of Service and Remuneration
Appointment will be on permanent and pensionable terms.

SALARY SCALE
BASIC SALARY: 96,589 x 8,831 - 105,420 x 8,831 -114,251 x 8,831 -123,082 x 8,831 -131,913
x 8,831 -140,744 per month.
