Job Description
Our client, the sole agent in Kenya and Uganda is one of the world’s top
shipping companies, operates with offices in Mombasa, Nairobi, and Kampala;
is currently seeking to appoint an IT-Finance Controller to bolster their
organizational capabilities. This role directly reports to the Regional IT - Finance
Controller, reflecting the company’s commitment to strengthening its financial
management functions.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• To be the person in charge of the company’s in-house ERP system.
• To drive the information systems agenda of the company especially as
regards to adoption of new technologies.
• Continuously work with all departmental heads to review all business
processes and craft alternative process flows.
• To be the project owner for all new IS projects, overseeing the process
analysis and design, gap analysis, functional system design and specifications,
system configuration, development of system tests and procedures, parallel
runs as well as keeping the project documentation.
• Providing key decisions support, monitoring risks and be involved in creating
the mitigation plans.
• Ensuring that ITGCs meet the standard IS audit and best practice
requirements.
• Complementing finance decisions that aim at revenue optimization and
costs reduction.
• Driving quality, testing and delivery of system modifications.
The ideal candidate should:
• Have experience as a project lead for at least one complete cycle of
implementing a leading ERP system in a mid-sized or large organization.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and adapt
quickly to changing priorities.
• Have outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Exhibit strong teamwork skills and be a self-driven individual who thrives
with minimal supervision.
• Possess Emotional Intelligence skills Additionally, the candidate should have:
• An undergraduate degree in either Business Administration or Information
Technology, Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working with ERP systems – be a certified consultant
preferably with Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or Sage 500.
• Very good knowledge of finance – ACCA or CPA qualification will be an added
advantage.
• Working experience as a computer programmer for a minimum of 1 year,
preferably with Oracle forms.
• Proficiency in report writing tools such as Crystal Reports and advanced
skills in SQL.
• Basic understanding of web programming environments.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Excel.
• Fluency in French is an added advantage
