AFIDEP is a regional non-profit research and policy Institute whose mission is to institutionalize a culture of consistent use of evidence in public policy formulation and implementation to address various development challenges in Africa. Our work focuses on five thematic areas namely:
1. Population Dynamics and Demographic Dividend
2. Health and Wellbeing
3. Transformative Education and Skills Development
4. Environment and Climate Change
5. Governance and Accountability.
The Institute is registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation in Kenya and Malawi where it has offices and in the USA as a 501c3 non-profit organisation.
AFIDEP is looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Project Officer and Training Coordinator to join our research team in an exciting Building Capacity for Integrated FP/RH and Population, Environment and Development Action (BUILD) Project.
Required qualifications and experience
• The candidate shall have a Master’s degree in Public Health, Economics, Population Studies, Environmental Science, or other social sciences
• Minimum of 5 years practical experience working as a Project Officer
• Proven track record in supporting evidence/knowledge synthesis and translation including the development of relevant policy and advocacy products
• Demonstrated track-record in supporting development of training materials and conducting population, health and environment-related trainings
• Proven track record in policy and multi-sectoral engagement with both government and non-governmental actors.
• Proven track record in conducting research
- Strong background and minimum of three years experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
• Experience in Population, Environment, and Development (PED)/ Population, Environment and Health (PHE) and USAID-funded projects is an added advantage.
