Job Description
Sightsavers is currently seeking a Finance and Support Services Assistant to join their Benin Country Office and assist the Finance and Support Service Officer with financial management and officer administration.

As the Finance and Support Services Assistant you will support the Benin and Togo offices with timely preparation of payment vouchers and writing and dispatching cheques, maintain and update the excel cash book, process vouchers in the SUN systems and handle regular payroll returns and banking within 24 hours.
Other duties include;
• Preparation of monthly Bank reconciliation and complete Monthly Financial checklist by 7th working day of each month and forward to Regional Office
• Reviewing and processing staff field trips advances and ensuring settlement of the same within 5 working days after return from trip.
• Assist in preparing schedules and providing documents and information to Internal & External Auditors.
• Coordinate renewal of motor vehicle licences and insurances.
• Review of procurement of office stationery.
• Ensure effective maintenance and repair of furniture, fittings and other office equipment
• Maintaining fixed assets registers that meets the accounting and insurance standards and ensuring all the new and existing insurable equipment are appropriately and adequately insured.
• Ensuring accurate coding of project expenditures (restricted funding)
• Take part in the review of partner financial reports
• Partner visits with FSSO to review their financial procedures
As the successful candidate you will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent education or working experience), possess previous experience in a similar role and within an accounting department, have prior experience working for an INGO, and have advanced Excel skills. Basic level English is required with knowledge of the accounting software Sari being desirable.
