About the Role
Reporting to the Finance and Strategy Director, this position is responsible to ensure
the school’s supplies are procured in a cost effective and timely manner
.
The Procurement Manager’s KPIs include:
• Planning:
o Procurement planning (annual)– a term in advance
o Vendor pre-qualification (annual)- a term in advance
o Succession planning and review (annual) o Absence / leave planning (annual)
•Lead times:
o Per annual procurement plan
o Max 1 mo for Ad hoc requests
• Cost management-annual (YoY) cost savings (benchmark to be provided)
• Surveys (termly): assure effective quality and lead-time expectations management
•Team health (termly):
o Strategic planning and effectiveness o Individual and team wellness planning and review
• Systems:embedding and evolution

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent
Knowledge
• A demonstrable understanding of the principles of supply chain / procurement best practices
• IT systems proficient
• A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children
Experience
-5+ years’ experience as a people manager in supply chain or procurement.
• A track record of success in meeting supply chain /procurement KPIs
• Ability to train staff to achieve KPIs
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
Member of Supply Chain Association
• Masters in Business Management or equivalent
• Understanding of wider supply chain / procurement benchmarks within Kenya and worldwide
• Ability to take initiative to identify opportunities and take appropriate action,organize and manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet
deadlines.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams and individuals without being their line manager.
