Main purpose of the job
To support academic growth of the department through quality teaching, supervision and administrative
support to the department
SPECIFIC ROLES AND ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A: Strategic Leadership
1. Advance AMIU and department vision and mission
2. Participating in department meetings and school meetings
3. Build and maintain strategic partnership
B: Programme Development and Management
1. Development and review of various curricula to grow the department
2. Administer the department academic programmes
3. Quality assurance in academic programmes implementation
4. overseeing student academic achievement
5. Uphold standard of professional integrity and ethics
6. Teaching academic programmes
C: Resource Mobilization and Management
1. Overseeing student enrolment
2. Focus department resource requirements
D: Research and Publications
1. Supervise student research to completion
2. Publish in peer review journals
3. Disseminate research in conferences and other relevant forums
4. Respond to research funding projects
E: Other Responsibilities
1. Maintaining department facilities and equipment
2. Participating in outreach activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
i. Must have earned PhD in Public/ Community Health, Environmental Health, public health
nutrition or related area
ii. At least 5 years’ experience in teaching in a university
iii. Research experience with publications in peer journals
iv. Knowledge and skills of eLearning methodologies
