DESCRIPTION
We are pleased to announce the following Opportunity in the Digital IT Department within the Technology Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.
Brief Description
Reporting to IT Governance Lead, the position holder’s responsibilities will include but not limited to reporting and driving accountability of various IT teams with respect to project delivery and operational support in line with the functional Mission.
Key Responsibilities
Continuously evaluate the existing processes and procedures to ensure that they are carried out efficiently and effectively and initiate appropriate corrective action.
Develop and produce metrics for monitoring and reporting process compliance across Digital IT
Champion and participate in all process continuous improvement initiatives, problem management resolution and maturity assessment gaps
Suggest and agree (with relevant teams) the various KPIs that will be reported against
Provide objective way of measuring the various KPIs
Evaluate and refine reporting KPIs to further drive business strategy
Automate various ways of picking and reporting these KPIs
Provide recommendation reports to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of existing departmental processes
Create tools/identify method(s) to obtain statistical data from the system
Analyze the effect of a new/improvement change before and after implementation
Consult key stakeholders within and outside Safaricom to develop and manage Digital IT processes
Take the lead on achieving recognition by ensuring compliance with accreditation standards through active monitoring, continuous improvement, and ensuring robust policies and procedures are in place
Works effectively with all other line managers to ensure that all projects are on track and any escalations are handled quickly
As new products and services are developed, ensure that operational teams are ready and equipped to deliver them to the required standard and have all the information they need to do so
Facilitate sharing of best practices for both Product delivery and Operations within various support teams
Ambition and ability to reinforce the highest standards of service delivery
Regular team and one-on-one engagements
Build the skillset according to the fit for future program
Team performance management
Working with Digital IT governance team you will identify business development and framework opportunities and prepare framework proposals for operations
Ensure policies and improvement action plans within Digital IT are effectively implemented, monitored and audited
Monitor performance and Mission requirements regularly, and implement improvements
Operate in line with Company policies and strategies, and be proactive in promoting improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
Honors Degree in Engineering/Computer Science/IT Systems
3 years of experience in ISO 9001 and or ITIL process development and auditing
3-4 years of experience in Telco or ISP environment
Good report writing skills (High level and Technical)
Good communication skills
Good project management skill
Knowledge of document management systems
Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery
Able to ‘think on feet’ and respond to challenge situations whilst also taking a measured approach when required
