DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Undertaking security & Problem Animal Control patrols operations as per approved procedures
• Detecting and preventing occurrence of wildlife crime within the Reserve and surrounding environment
• Participating in capture of wildlife and translocation of wildlife as and when required
• Engaging communities in protection of wildlife within the community land
• Recruiting and supervising informants as required
• Providing escort services as and when required
• Participating in conducting covert operations and arrests as per approved procedures
• Ensuring safety of exhibits as per approved procedures
• Perform any other duty assigned by the immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPOINTMENT
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Diploma/Certificate holder in Wild Life Management or related trainings i.e Environmental Sciences; Geography and Natural Resource Management; Climate Change and Development, Earth Sciences; Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management; Disaster management and sustainable Development; Environmental Education, Natural Resource Management; Integrated Forest Resources Management; Agroforestry and Rural Development or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized university;
• Certificate of good conduct
• Knowledge of relevant legislations and policies relating to Natural Resource Management;
• Must have at least 2 years’ experience in similar work
• Physically fit and strong, with sound navigational skills
• Computer literate with knowledge on related Computer packages
• Good Communication skills,
