Requirements for Appointment
i) Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Sociology, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Co-operative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational Development, Finance or Agribusiness from a university recognized in Kenya;
ii) Masters’ Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage;
iii) A minimum of Seven (7) years’ relevant experience, Three (3) years of which must have been in a senior management level in an institution either in public or private sector
iv) Member of Relevant Professional Organization.
v) Having undergone management and leadership course of not less than four weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
vi) Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Duties and Responsibilities
i) Provide technical advice to the Department on Cooperative matters.
ii) Advise county on Cooperative investments
iii) Participate in policy formulation
iv) Enforcing compliance with Cooperative legislation
v) Design, coordinate and monitor the implementation of Cooperative activities, programs and policies
vi) Carry out market research and disseminate research findings
vii) Promote value addition and processing
viii) Conduct Cooperative banking inspection
ix) Undertake risk assessment
x) Develop new financial products and credit policies
