Terms of Service: Contract
The Director will be responsible to the Chief Officer in Charge of Public
Administration/Governance for the development and management of Information
Technology policies and programmes within the County.
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Systems development implementation and allocation
(ii) Overseeing the development of local area network(LAN) and wide area
network(WAN);
(iii) Coordinating systems development;
(iv) Evaluating systems and ensuring adherence to established ICT standards;
(v) Training and preparing staff performance reports;
(vi) Liasising with user departments to ensure effective maintenance of
hardware for ICT equipment;
(vii) Safe custody of computer catalogues, manuals and licensed software.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
(i) served in the grade of Senior Assistant Director of Information
Communication Technology or in an equivalent and relevant position in a
busy organization for a minimum period of three (3) years;
(ii) a Master’s degree in Computer Science or any other related discipline from
a recognized Institution;
(iii) a certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not
less than six (6) weeks or its equivalent from a recognized Institution; and
(iv) Demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence in organizing
and directing work.
