Job Description

Job Purpose
This role is responsible for conducting performance testing, User Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, test automation and other required assurance activities and recommend for production deployment of assigned business systems solutions. The role will be expected to utilize processes that enhance testing efficiency such as use of data for AI driven testing; agile testing practices like testing automation, test driven development and shifting left etc.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
1. Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities
2. Support the planning, design and execution of test plans, test scripts and process plans for projects
3. Work closely with various departments to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements and recommend changes to predetermines quality guidelines
4. Ensure that the end product meets the minimum quality standards, is fully functional and user friendly
5. Support resource allocation decisions during project prioritization with stakeholders
6. Lead and guide assigned team reportees on required Quality engineering deliverables
7. Apply Quality Assurance/Engineering expertise on assigned initiatives and undertake research on best practice as part of benchmarking
8. Provide regular progress reports to management

Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
1. Conduct user acceptance testing with all relevant stakeholders to evaluate that delivered solutions are fit for use and purpose
2. Conduct load, stress and performance testing for identified test exercises.
3. Conduct regression tests to ascertain that identified issues or bugs have been resolved and new defects are not introduced
4. Conduct smoke tests on environments prior to test exercise to validate readiness for user acceptance testing, readiness of the test environment and recommend remedial measures to address gaps or deviations observed
5. Ensure that developed test cases conforms to established software testing standards
6. Ensure that documented defects are articulated according to testing
7. Define and document approach for test data generation for testing
8. Review test cases to ensure that test cases covers priority areas during regression tests carried out to ascertain that fixing of existing bugs or defects does not introduce new bugs or
9. Ensure User Acceptance test meetings are effectively organized by liaising with the relevant stakeholders to plan meetings, circulating agendas and reports, taking note of action points and checking that agreed actions are carried
10. Document results of completed testing assignments in consultation with test team.
11. Define test environment parameters and requirements to facilitate setup of the environment by system and database
12. Prepare required periodic as well as ad hoc reports for management
13. Utilize continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies and tools

Administrative; Stakeholder and Quality Management Responsibilities/ Tasks
1. Collaborate with business subject matter experts to understand and document solutions delivery test cases and test acceptance criteria
2. Proactively engage with stakeholders to address needs and issues
3. Ensure high level of customer service across all interactions and deliverables
4. Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations
5. Serve as team representative at designated meetings and respond to questions/tasks related to quality assurance/engineering management/
6. Maintain quality standards in all assigned Initiatives
7. Participate in post-implementation quality audits
8. Participate in planning and scheduling of solutions implementation audits
9. Participate in conducting of solutions implementation audits; follow-ups on corrective actions and preparation of solutions implementation audit report
10. Collaborate with unit team members to deliver on Solutions delivery initiatives
11. Complete all assigned tasks to ensure timely delivery
12. Comply with HR requirements on staff policy guidelines and requirements
13. Mentoring, training and skills development of interns and attaches
14. Any additional duties as assigned

Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Academic qualifications

1. A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related technical Field from a recognized university
2. Practical experience in relevant MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
3. Broad technical expertise combined with business acumen skills
4. Project; Quality Management or Business Analysis training or experience is an added advantage

Previous relevant work experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in similar role
- An understanding of Business improvement methodologies and techniques
- Practical experience in relevant MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- A good understanding of technology.
