Job Description
Our client, a leading ICT company in East Africa region, are looking for a General Sales Manager. Reporting to the Managing Director, he/she will manage the sales team and ensure the company meets annual sales targets, develop and maintain business relationships with customers, end-users and partners, and lead technical discussions internally as well as externally with customers, partners, and suppliers.
JOB PURPOSE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Submit an annual business plan
• Meet set sales target allocated.
• Manage key accounts, direct and drive new business and sales.
• Manage the sales team and ensure the sales team meet their sales targets.
• Assist in scheduling and conducting customer meetings with the sales team.
• Approve customer proposals and conduct weekly follow-up meetings with the sales team.
• Submit monthly sales reports.
• Assist the sales team in creating new customer accounts.
• Maintain high level of product/system knowledge.
• Present and demonstrate technical presentations i.e. systems / products.
• Conduct market and products research to identify market need and trends.
• Support all customer requirements in conformance with company’s policies and procedures.
• Maintain updated customers list.
• Oversee and manage debt collection by the sales team
• Conduct periodic meetings with sales team to ensure continuous assessment
REQUIREMENTS
• Min. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field from a recognized University
• Sales & Marketing professional qualification
• Must have at least 7 years’ experience in selling Power & Security solutions, ISP and Projects solutions (experience expanding to the region will be an added advantage), with 3 years proven working experience in a Sales managerial role.
• Must have a proven track record selling IT security solutions in Africa to major accounts in both public and private sectors.
• Must demonstrate good management skills i.e. ability to supervise and manage a team.
• Demonstrable the ability to not only lead sales activities and meet company sales targets but also activities involving budget analysis and commercial discussions
