INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS FOR VACANT POSITIONS IN THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY FUND FOR INDEPENDENT MEMBERS
The National Social Security (NSSF) is a service organization established under an Act of Parliament, NSSF Act. 2013 to provide basic social security to all Kenyans. The Fund is managed by a Board of Trustees which comprises of nine (9) members (Two representing the Government, two nominated by most representative workers organization, two nominated by the most representative employers organization and three nominated by the Cabinet Secretary Labour and Social Protection from the public). Following the due expiry of the term of board members, three (3) public, Two (2) workers and one (1) employer organizations are going to be vacant.
The Cabinet Secretary wishes to advertise for eligible candidates to apply for nomination under the category of independent members under the NSSF Act of 2013 for three available vacancies In the board of trustees.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for appointment, one must meet the following criteria prescribed by the NSSF Act. 2013 and other relevant government regulations.
a) Minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.
b) Knowledge and experience in matters relating to administration of scheme funds, actuarial science, insurance, accounting and auditing or law.
c) Has served In a position of Senior Management for a period of al least six years.
d) Must fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya as follows:
• Tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Clearance from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
• Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
e) Must include recommendation from relevant professional bodies and / or associations.
