Machakos, Kenya
Terms of Service: 3-Years Contract
Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level be responsible for: -
i) planning and coordinating counselling programs
ii) conducting both individual and group counselling
iii) keeping appropriate records
iv) identifying employees with social psychological or health related problems; orientation of new employees
v) providing family life education including HIV and AIDS
vi) promotion of ethics in the Service
vii) planning organizing and facilitating seminars and workshops on guidance and counselling matters.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
i) Six (6) years of working experience of which three (3) should be in a senior position in Public Service or the Private Sector;
ii) Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling OR a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the Social Sciences with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from a recognized institution;
iii) Psychological Debriefing Course lasting not less than one week;
iv) Proficiency in Computer Applications;
v) Registration with the Kenya Counselling Association (KCA).
