Multimedia and Video Elearning Specialist (One Position)
Daystar University is seeking a highly skilled and creative Multimedia and Video eLearning Specialist
to join its Open, Distance and eLearning Directorate. The candidate will play a crucial role in creating
engaging and interactive video content for our online students. The primary responsibility will be
to produce high-quality videos that enhance the learning experience and effectively communicate
complex concepts in an easily understandable manner.
Requirements:
• Christian commitment and practice
• Bachelor’s degree in film production, multimedia, communication, or a related field from a
recognized University.
• Proven experience in video production, including scripting, storyboarding, filming, and
editing.
• Proficiency in using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or
similar tools.
• Strong technical skills in audio recording, editing, and synchronization.
• Proficiency in using graphic design and motion graphics software such as Adobe After
Effects, Photoshop, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of video compression, encoding, and optimization techniques for web and
streaming platforms.
• Understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to translate complex concepts
into visually engaging and interactive videos.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects
simultaneously.
• Strong creative and artistic abilities, with a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with
stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
• Evidence of portfolio of previous video production work demonstrating technical proficiency
and creativity.
• Has an excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to
work with staff with diverse backgrounds and perspectives on the use of technology in a
variety of learning capacities.
• Experienced with project management and effective time management, especially as it
relates to the prioritization of multiple tasks.Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with instructional Designer and subject matter experts to understand course
objectives and content requirements.
• Conceptualize, plan, and storyboard video content that aligns with the learning outcomes
and instructional goals.
• Produce and edit videos using various tools and software, ensuring high production value,
clarity, and visual appeal.
• Record, capture, and edit audio to ensure high-quality sound and synchronized audio-video
playback.
• Create visually appealing graphics, animations, and motion graphics to enhance video
content and engage learners.
• Ensure consistent branding and visual style across all video content.
• Conduct video shoots, including setting up lighting, audio, and camera equipment as
needed.
• Collaborate with other team members in ODeL Directorate.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in video production
and eLearning to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of our video content.
• Manage video production schedules with subject matter experts and meet project deadlines.
• Keep the ODeL Directorate gallery.
• Ensuring consistent Christian behaviour in line with the institution’s vision
