Job Description
Role
Play the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects, be accountable for the entire project scope, project team, resources, and the success or failure of the project, for large scale residential and commercial building sites.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with engineers, architects to determine the specifications of the project.
• Create project budget and schedule for approval by management.
• Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
• Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
• Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
• Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
• Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
• Hire contractors and staff and allocate responsibilities.
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
• Ensure adherence to all quality standards and specifications.
• Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement.
Skills
• 5 years experience as construction project manager
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, and familiarity with project management software.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
• A team player with leadership abilities.
