Marketing Officer [No. of vacancies- One (1)
Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) is a wholly owned Government Development Finance Institution (DFI) incorporated under the Agricultural Finance Corporation Act (Cap 323 of the Laws of Kenya). AFC is charged with the mandate of supporting the development of agriculture and agriculture industries by making loans and providing managerial and technical assistance to the loan beneficiaries.
The corporation invites applications for the position of Marketing Officer.
Role Profile
As a Marketing Officer at AFC, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to communicate the value of our financial products and services to our target audience. You will collaborate with various teams to develop and implement marketing strategies that drive engagement, brand awareness, and customer acquisition. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of farmers and contribute to the growth of agriculture in the country.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop New Markets: Identify and explore opportunities to diversify AFC’s customer base and expand the reach of our products and services in new markets.
2. Annual Marketing Plan and Budget: Prepare a comprehensive annual marketing plan and budget for the marketing division, outlining key strategies and initiatives to achieve our objectives.
3. New Product Development: Lead the development of new financial products and design effective marketing strategies to promote these offerings to target customers.
4. Logistical Support: Provide logistical support to AFC branches for participating in marketing activities, ensuring seamless execution of marketing campaigns.
5. Market Segmentation: Conduct market segmentation analysis to identify potential markets for targeted marketing and sales activities.
6. Branding and Positioning: Spearhead branding and positioning initiatives for AFC’s products and branches to create a distinct market presence.
7. Corporate Events Management: Oversee and manage corporate events to enhance AFC’s visibility and engagement with stakeholders.
8. Market Research and Analysis: Plan regular market research activities to stay updated with industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor analysis.
9. Customer Satisfaction Survey: Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys to gather feedback and insights to improve our products and services.
10. Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake any other duties assigned from time to time to support AFC’s marketing efforts
Person Specifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Additional certifications in Marketing Strategy or Market Research are advantageous.
• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies.
• Innovative Thinker: A creative thinker with the ability to conceptualize and execute innovative marketing campaigns.
• Budget Management: Proficient in preparing and managing marketing budgets effectively.
• Product Development: Experience in developing and launching new products, with a solid understanding of product marketing strategies.
• Event Planning: Experience in planning and executing corporate events and promotional activities.
• Market Research: Strong analytical skills to conduct market research and translate insights into actionable marketing plans.
• Customer-Centric: A customer-focused approach with the ability to understand customer needs and preferences.
