Job Objective/Purpose
To ensure accurate and complete billing of inpatient services in accordance with Avenue Healthcare’s defined policies, procedures,standards and strategies
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily review of patients’ billing statements, including all discharged patients, for accuracy and completion prior to finalization of the invoices.
2. Ensure services noted in the patient’s chart are billed and clarify any other services rendered with attending clinicians.
3. Resolve incoming queries on billing from patients,insurance companies, consultants or colleagues in a professional and efficient manner.
4. Provide billing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing third-party billings, accounts pending, and late charges data and trends.
5. Prepare billing statements for insurance companies,patients and other third parties.
6. Prepare reports and respond to inquiries concerning billing activities.
7. Participate in audits, service evaluations and process reviews to enhance the delivery of billing service to customers/stakeholders.
8. Ensure all patient encounters and procedures are posted correctly with the current ICD and CPT codes.
9. Client satisfaction (patient, consultants and others)-
10. Ensure client satisfaction through optimal quality of care, effective communication, timely feedback and escalation of unresolved issues.
11. Oversee the Education of staff, including orientation and Training to ensure performance improvement on patient billing.
12. Ensure that Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies are adhered to, including preventing, detecting, and reporting any fraud or criminal activities, and Implementing audit recommendations.
13. Ensure adequate knowledge of, and compliance to all Avenue Healthcare policies, procedures,and systems, especially policies pertaining to the provision of medical services.
14. Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor inline with the job description.
Personal Specifications
15. Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) or BsN
16. A valid Nursing License from NCK
17. Finance Training (CPA III) highly desirable
18. 1+ years nursing experience and 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a Hospital set-up
19. Customer focus
20. Strong interpersonal skills, team playing abilities, and communication skills.
