The Role:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director is responsible for providing direction and leadership in the implementation of strategic goals and objectives of the Corporation. He/She is responsible for overseeing the strategic, operational and financial performance of the Corporation. In addition, he/she will ensure effective and efficient management and administration of the Corporation.
Specific Terms:
Three (3) years contract of employment renewable subject to good performance output.

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Provide leadership in the development of strategies, policies and guidelines to ensure achievement of the objectives of the Corporation.
⦁ Spearhead the provision of independent and impartial broadcasting services of information, education and entertainment in English, Kiswahili and any other languages as the Corporation may decide.
⦁ Facilitate the establishment, operation and control of production and transmission facilities, and services related thereto countrywide.
⦁ Ensure compliance with the Constitution of Kenya and all statutory, legal and regulatory requirements.
⦁ Oversee the development of mechanisms for the continuous improvement in the quality and value of products and services.
⦁ Responsible for commercialization of the corporation’s services and assets by embracing modern and innovative solutions for revenue generation and enhanced profitability.
⦁ Oversee the designing, implementation and review of financial management systems to ensure prudent utilization of funds.
⦁ Offer oversight in development of proper internal monitoring and control systems and procedures.
⦁ Ensure maintenance of a conducive work environment for attracting, retaining and motivating employees.
⦁ Provide regular, thorough, prompt and effective communication to the Board, Management and Staff on key strategic, technical, financial and administrative matters.
⦁ Ensure performance contracting, cascading and appraisal for all the Departments to meet performance targets.
Minimum Requirements:
Educational and Professional Requirements
⦁ Masters degree in any of the following fields:- Media Studies, Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, Engineering, Strategic Management, Project Management or its equivalent from a recognized University
⦁ Bachelor’s degree in any of the fields listed above from a recognized University
⦁ Must be a member of a relevant professional body in the area of specialization
⦁ Strategic Leadership, Senior Management or Corporate Governance training from a recognized training institution will be an added advantage
⦁ PhD will be an added advantage.
Minimum Experience
⦁ Must have at least ten (10) years working experience in a comparable organization in the public or private sector
⦁ Must have served at a senior managerial position in the media or broadcasting industry for at least five (5) years
⦁ Experience in working or interacting with a Board

⦁ Demonstrable sound leadership and people management skills
⦁ Must be a good planner, strategic thinker, organizer with commercial acumen, resource mobilization and excellent decision making skills
⦁ Must have excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
⦁ Knowledgeable in emerging technologies and trends in new media
⦁ Demonstrable ability to drive change and transformation
⦁ Unquestionable personal integrity and high level of accountability.
