QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements for appointment:-
i. Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution;
ii. Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
iii. Membership of a relevant professional body; and
iv. Proficiency in computer application.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
i. Receive and document patients at hospital reception;
ii. Register and book appointment for patients to clinics and consultants;
iii. Store and retrieve medical records documents;
iv. Gather and capture data from different sources and service points;
v. Maintain record safety and confidentiality;
vi. Store and retrieve medical records;
vii. Prepare daily bed returns;
viii. Create and maintain master index;
ix. Update patient master index;
x. Assign codes to diseases and surgical procedures according to the International Classification of Diseases and Procedures in Medicine; and
xi. Prepare Health records and reports on monthly basis
