Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and maintain proper supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts for management review.
• Assist in developing and monitoring the company's annual budget and financial plans.
• Conduct periodic financial analysis, highlighting variances, trends, and areas of improvement.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company finance policies.
• Assist in preparing audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process.
• Monitor and reconcile interdepartmental transactions and accounts.
• Provide guidance and support to staff regarding financial procedures, policies, and systems.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and best practices.
• Prepare and file tax and statutory returns and ensure taxes are paid properly and on time.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA-K (Certified Public Accountant)
• Proven experience as an Accountant with at least 5 years working experience, 2 of which must be in preparing final accounts.
• Must be well versed with preparation of final accounts
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting softwares (QuickBooks is a must)
• Proficient in Microsoft office suit.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent presentation skills i.e charts and graphs.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
