Deputy Director of Land Surveys, Job Group 'Q' MCPSB/01/2024/212
Machakos, Kenya
Terms of Service: Three (3) Year Contract
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Developing new land survey techniques and policies
ii. Assessing human capacity development needs in line with the changing professional demands
iii. Carrying out national and international boundary surveys
iv. Supervising research of new and emerging technologies
v. Verifying cadastral, adjudication, topographical, sub- divisional schemes, photo engineering surveys
vi. Carrying out quality control of astronomical, gravity, magnetic, cadastral, VLBI observations, adjudication and general boundary surveys
vii. Calibrating and certifying survey equipment.
viii. Estimating and costing of survey projects.
(b) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
i. A minimum experience of fifteen (15) years in this field.
ii. Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Land surveying and photogrammetry, Geomatics Engineering. Technology in Geomatics, Technology in Geo-informatics, Geo- spatial Engineering, Philosophy in Technology (Survey) from a recognized institution.
iii. Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: Land Surveying, Land management. Cartography, Photogrammetry, Photolithography, Geomatic Engineering, Technology in Geomatics, Technology in Geoinformatics, Geo- spatial Engineering, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Urban or Regional Planning, Geodesy, Hydrography, Environmental Science, Information Science or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
iv. Full membership of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (MISK).
v. A certificate in Senior Management and Leadership Training from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
