SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR – JOB GRADE LVSWWDA 5 – REF:
LVSWWDA/SIA/2024/05 – (1 POST)
a) Job Specification
The duties and responsibilities at this level will involve:
i. Providing inputs for the update of policies and procedures for the
Department;
ii. Developing individual audit engagement plan and ensure
implementation;
iii. Reviewing and evaluating the system of internal controls, assess their
adequacy, effectiveness and proposing recommendation for their
improvement;
iv. Safeguarding the Board’s assets by establishing appropriate means of
verifying their existence, ownership and valuation;
v. Preparing draft audit reports on completion of each audit engagement
for review by the Principal Internal auditor;
vi. Assisting in establishing a follow up mechanism on recommendations
received from all internal and external audits; and
vii. Undertaking special audit / investigations.
b) Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have/be: -
i. A minimum period of four (4) years relevant work experience;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Accounting,
Finance or Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) or
relevant field from a recognized university;
iii. Passed Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (K) or its equivalent;
iv. A registered member of ICPAK in good standing;
v. Proficient in computer application skills;
vi. Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized
institution.
