Biblia Sacco Society Ltd, a medium-sized Sacco with membership from a large number of
Christian organizations wishes to fill vacant position of ICT officer whose duties and
qualifications are as below:

ICT OFFICER
A. JOB PURPOSE
This position shall manage ICT systems, hardware and implementation of new technologies to
ensure smooth running of systems network security.

D. NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB/ REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to: CEO
Direct reports: Senior ICT Assistant, ICT Assistant
Indirect Reports: None
Frequent contacts outside the
Sacco:

E. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Formulate and implement ICT policies, processes and procedures
b) Execute departmental objectives in line with the Sacco’s strategic plan and aligning the
ICT strategy with the strategic plan
c) Planning and implementation of Information Systems Infrastructure.
d) Implementing the network security as established in the ICT Policy.
e) Overseeing the administration and maintenance of the Sacco’s ICT Infrastructure.
f) Administering the Sacco’s mobile communications infrastructure
g) Overseeing the administration of the Sacco’s LAN and WAN.
h) Overseeing the administration and maintenance of Society’s servers, computers and
software’s.
i) Overseeing systems troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery
and providing expert support.
j) Works with other heads of departments, users to help design and implement Internal ICT
Systems.
k) Formulate and implement sound ICT policies, procedures, strategies, and systems
within the framework of the Sacco’s policies and regulation.
l) Manage the Society ICT assets to support effective implementation of the Society
objectives
m) Monitoring of contracts for ICT services provided by third parties ensuring effective
service delivery
n) Keep abreast of latest technologies that may be of benefit to the Sacco and make
requisite recommendations, supported by documentation, costing etc.
o) Provides clear, succinct, and cogent reports to required deadlines for the Board,
Committees, the Chief Executive, Management Teams, and key stakeholders as required.
p) Perform any other responsibility as assigned
F. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
a) Performance of Sacco’s ERP
b) Up to date policies, procedures and standards in place
c) User requests response/resolution rate
d) Mean Time to Recover (MTTR), and system/technology downtime.
Network availability
G. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
a) University Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
b) 3 to 4 years of experience in a busy IT environment
c) Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE 2003) or MCITP 2008
d) CISCO certification (CCNA)
e) Microsoft Office Suite of Packages
f) A Master’s degree in ICT will be an added advantage.
g) Professional certification in Information Security, Project Management, ICT
infrastructure, MCSE, CISCO certification, ITIL certification added advantage
h) Membership with ICT Professional Body e.g. Computer Society of Kenya, ISACA, PMI
