Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: participating in development, review,
and implementation of social development policies, projects and programmes; facilitating
socio economic activities in the County; collecting, compiling and analyzing
disaggregated data; liaising with organizations handling socio economic issues;
undertaking research on and documentation of social issues; disseminating information
on socio-economic empowerment programmes and projects; monitoring the prevalence
of how community affected socially in the area of jurisdiction and identifying programmes
to address them; preparing relevant reports on implementation of socio economic
activities; and participating in related community field activities.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
i. Served in the grade of Chief Social Development Officer for a minimum period
of three (3) years;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Sociology, Social Work,
Psychology, Community Development, Project Development and Management,
Disability Studies, Anthropology, Counselling, Business Administration /
Management, Rehabilitation Studies, Gerontology, Education, Economics or
equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iii. Certificate in Management Course from a recognized institution;
iv. Certificate in Social Work, Community Development or equivalent qualification
lasting not less than one (1) month from a recognized institution;
v. Been a person of integrity;
vi. Certificate in computer applications; and
vii. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
