Job Description
Kisumu Specialists Hospital is recruiting the position above to participate in the care and management of both outpatients and inpatients.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of more experienced medical staff and through collaboration with other health professionals, the resident medical officer will be tasked with providing effective appropriate medical care to both inpatient and outpatient clients commensurate with their capabilities and in accordance with delegated clinical privileges.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under full time supervision of the Medical Director, the incumbent shall:
1. Provide appropriate medical care to patients presenting in the outpatient department.
2. Request for appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for both inpatient and outpatient clients.
3. Appropriately offer referrals and treatment options to clients when called upon.
4. Be available for urgent and emergent care of patients within the facility.
5. Provide and document all necessary documentation on the hospital medical record platform.
6. Be available for review of inpatients if and when called upon.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements:
1. Must be a holder of MBChB or other equivalent degree recognised by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council in Kenya
2. Should be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council with updated license for the year 2022.
3. Should have a professional indemnity cover for not less than KES 1,000,000.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, training and team building abilities.
2. Good clinical acumen and skills.
3. Must be computer literate and ready to work with an integrated management system.
4. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
5. Ability to consult when needed.
6. Strong Interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
7. Training in BLS/ACLS/ATLS will be added advantage.

Terms of Engagement: One year contract, renewable
