The Position:
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Banking, the position will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing the Product Management team’s strategy and plans, sales, growth, profitability, ROE and relevant market share in collaboration with the other revenue and enabling functions of KCB Bank Group Limited.
• The strategic leadership and management of product teams, by offering customer solutions and maximizing shareholder value. The Product teams shall include Cash management, Trade Finance, Investor Services & Asset Based Finance/IPF.
• Scaling, enabling, engaging and commercializing Corporate Products and client value propositions through the Product teams.
• Driving business growth through Product Heads and integrated teams in order to achieve Revenues and Profitability growth for Corporate Banking.
• Leading a team of Heads of Product Houses to partner with the units within Corporate Banking and the broader bank to maximize our share of wallet across the Sectors while co-creating customer solutions and business value proposition.
Key Responsibilities:
• To develop and lead the implementation of Product Management strategy in line with the overall Corporate Banking Strategy.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the sector’s strategy, business, financial performance, industry outlook/trends, specific customer insights and general macroeconomic issues and trends in the country and other relevant geographies and ensure these are translated to viable strategies
• Understand customers’ buying behaviors and needs to develop value propositions that will drive product cross sell and increase revenues
• Deliver on Product Management’s Annual Business Growth Targets: Revenue, Fees and Commissions, Profit Before Tax, Assets, Liabilities and Customer Numbers.
• Provide product solutioning support for complex deals or RFPs and sponsor them to conclusion.
• Identify and market-size new business opportunities and revenue pools and articulate the product capabilities needed to seize a share of them
• Act as the main conduit for championing to all investment cases for product development or enhancements and for local regulatory requirements
Job Requirements:
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business from an Institution recognized by CUE
• Professional qualifications in CPAK, ACCA, AKIB or Postgraduate degree is added advantage
• Professional qualification in sales / marketing
• 10 - 15 years relevant experience in Corporate or Retail Banking with at least 7 years in Senior Management position
• Relevant product management experience locally and internationally to demonstrate business commercial awareness
• Experience in the management of a P&L and key balance sheet drivers
• Relevant training courses or certification in the product or credit management field
• Experience in people management and diverse stakeholder management
