INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER III, JOB GRADE
‘‘L’’ UGCASB 6 (1post)
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
i). Supervising staff under him/her;
ii). Scheduling for preventive and corrective maintenance developing hardware and software
specifications;
iii). Developing and implementing systems;
iv). Undertaking upgrading of software; updating and keeping inventory on Information
Communication Technology activities;
v). designing, recommending and evaluating systems;
vi). Implementing, maintaining and documenting standards of systems; maintaining support
systems and training of users;
vii). Repairing and maintaining of Information Communication Technology equipment and
associated peripherals
viii). Certifying and configuring Information Communication Technology equipment;
ix). Maintaining data protection system;
x). Installing and supporting servers;
xi). Installing and deployment of relevant hardware and software;
(b) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
i). Served in the grade of Information Communication Technology Officer I for a minimum
period of three (3) years;
ii). Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Computer Science, Information
Technology, Business Information Technology or any other equivalent qualification from
recognized institution;
iii). Certificate in MCSE/MCITP (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/ Microsoft Certified IT
Professional) or CCNA/ N+ (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Network+);
iv). Registration with a relevant professional body and;
v). Membership of good professional standing; and
vi) Meet the requirements of Leadership and Integrity set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
