DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Overseeing development and management of inland fisheries including dams/small water reservoirs.
• Implementing fisheries Policy, research and development;
• Promoting fish farming (Aquaculture) in the County;
• Development of Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) strategies ;
• Coordinating protection and regulation of fisheries ecosystem;
• Management and licensing of fisher folk and fishing vessels;
• Coordinating the establishment of technical committees on fish quality and safety;
• Compiling reports;
• Advising the Government on investment areas in the fisheries sector;
• Promoting ornamental and sport fisheries in the county;
• Coordinating implementation of Government projects;
• Coordinating and drafting of reports, bills, and cabinet memos to the county assembly.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPOINTMENT
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries Management
• 2 years’ experience in related field
• Member of Aquaculture Association of Kenya (AAK)
