Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job
This position reports to the Enterprise ICT Solution Lead and will be responsible for analyzing member institutions academic and administrative cloud computing requirements and proposing appropriate technical cloud solutions. The solutions shall be based on private, community, and public cloud infrastructures.
Requirements for the Job
The ideal candidate shall have an electrical engineering, computer science or information systems or related degree from a recognized university.
The candidate shall also have over 6 years relevant hands-on practical experience as a cloud solutions architect or cloud engineer in setting up and supporting cloud services.
The candidate should also be proficient in UNIX-based Operating Systems and at least one programming language, preferably Python and detailed knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
Industry cloud certifications on implementation & administration of Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, VMWare ESX, or OpenStack cloud infrastructures shall be an added advantage.
All candidates must have demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, high ethical and moral standards and capable of working in teams with limited supervision.
