Job Description

V/NO.18/2022: CHIEF OFFICER, TRADE AND TOURISM. JOB GROUP ‘S’ (1 POST)
Terms of Service: Contract
Salaries and Remuneration: As prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

Duties and responsibilities:-
The chief officer shall be the authorized officer in respect of exercise of delegated power and shall be responsible to the respective county executive member for:-
i. the administration of county department
ii. implementation of policies and development plans
iii. development and implementation of strategic plans
iv. formulate and implement effective programmes to attain vision 2030 and sector goals
v. promote national values and principles of governance and values and principles of public
service
vi. Perform any other duties and responsibilities that shall be assigned by the supervisor from
time to time.

Requirements for appointment: -
a) Be a Kenyan citizen;
b) Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
c) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
d) Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than ten years in the
specific area.
e) Possess general knowledge of the County Government and functions of the County
Government
f) Demonstrate an understanding of the County goals, policies and developmental objectives.
g) Demonstrate leadership and management capacity including knowledge of financial
management and strategic people management skills.
h) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and
integrity.
