Basic Salary: Ksh 22,270x1040 – 23,310 x 1070– 24,380 x 1,090 – 25,470x1,110–26,580 x 1,120–27700 x 1,150 – 28,850 x 1,170 – 30,020 p.m
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this post, candidate must have the following:
i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- or its equivalent
ii) A certificate in Animal Health or Animal health and production from a recognized institution.
iii) A certificate in Environmental Health Science (Meat Inspection) from a recognized institution.
iv) Be registered and retained by the Kenya Veterinary Board
Duties and Responsibilities
This is at entry level grade. An officer will normally be posted in a ward and will be required to work under supervision and guidance by senior and more experienced officers in undertaking the following duties.
i) Meat inspection services;
ii) Disease control activities such as disease search, vaccination and enforcement of livestock movement regulations including quarantines and management of livestock markets.
iii) Participating in the training of stakeholders in vector control programmes.
iv) Advising farmers on good veterinary practices.
v) Collecting data and preparing reports on animal health, products and markets
vi) Providing advice on animal breeding and welfare.
vii) Collecting samples for livestock disease diagnosis.
