The successful candidate will directly work and report to the Head of ICT/ICT Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Offer Support in Formulating, Recommending and Implementing ICT Policies, Strategies and Procedures for adoption by management. • Liaising with external Agencies and Relevant Institutions on ICT related Issues.
• Provide Technical Advice on new Technologies that are appropriate to Sacco Banking Services.
• Manage the Society ICT assets to support effective implementation of the Society objectives.
• Advise the ICT Manager on ICT innovations, strategies, and their impact on the Society objectives.
• Ensure timely provision of ICT services to all functions of the Sacco. • Assigning user rights and implementation of controls in the Sacco system. • Troubleshooting and Reporting system breakdowns and failures immediately to the system vendor for quick action.
• Ensure Network links are always up and stable.
• Promote best practice in the development of information systems. • Keep abreast of the latest technologies that may be of benefit to the SACCO and make requisite recommendations to ICT manager, supported by documentation, costing, etc.
• Execute departmental objectives in line with the SACCO’s strategic plan and align the ICT strategy with the strategic plan.
• Assist with all systems implementations including working with ready-made applications and external consultation if need be.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of the society’s information. • Ensure that all IT dynamics in use by the organization keep pace with technological innovations and developments.
• Be in constant consultation with all technology-based service providers.
• Any other as may be assigned by a senior officer
KNOWLEDGE: QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Be a holder of at least a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
• MUST have Database administration Skills and ability to manage database security/integrity and backup procedures.
• Have relevant knowledge in Windows Server 2012 R2,2016 & 2019 and SQL Server 2016,2019 and 2022 as well as Microsoft Windows 10 and 11. • Have a relevant Professional Certification in CISCO, ORACLE, CISM MCSE, CCNA or CCNP, NSE
• Knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms and enterprise applications.
• Good Knowledge in configuration and general understanding of Fortinet FortiGate firewall systems.
• At least three (3) years’ experiences in system administration in a Sacco or financial institution.
• Be a registered member with an ICT Professional Body with active membership.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL and Oracle SQL will be an added advantage.
