PRINCIPAL, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER - KRB GRADE 4
a) Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:-
(i) Developing Corporate communication policy, strategies, procedures, and
systems;
(ii) Developing brand strategies and implementing brand communication plans,
monitoring their implementation, and evaluating effectiveness
(iii) Developing and reviewing corporate social responsibility programmes and
monitoring their implementation in consultation with directorates/departments
and evaluating their impact
(iv) Reviewing and overseeing the implementation of complaints handling guidelines
and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation
(v) Monitoring the implementation of customer service standards and compliance in
the organization
(vi) Preparing and reviewing budgets, departmental procurement plans and
preparing terms of reference/specifications
(vii) Undertaking regular brand/customer surveys and ensuring recommendations
are implemented
(viii) Manage crisis communications
(ix) Developing corporate event plans with budgets and timelines and overseeing
their implementation
(x) Coordinate the preparation of information, education, and communication
materials in consultation with directorates/departments;
(xi) Ensuring the resolution of public complaints and compliance with relevant
policies, guidelines, and legislations
(xii) Ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and legislation for access to
information
(xiii) Directing production of documentaries, infomercials, and advertisements
(xiv) Developing, reviewing, and monitoring information posted on the KRB website
and social media platforms
(xv) Reviewing materials for public communication ensuring completeness and
accuracy
(xvi) Preparing and reviewing speeches, public notices in consultation with heads of
directorates/departments
(xvii) Developing media management strategies and plans for implementation
(xviii) Reviewing media monitoring reports, making recommendations for continual
improvement, and ensuring action is taken
(xix) Developing, editing and publishing KRB newsletter
(xx) Preparing, editing and directing the design, production and dissemination of
corporate publications
(xxi) Representing KRB in public events
(xxii) Promoting a positive corporate image of the Board;
(xxiii) Implement quality management systems and procedures in the department
(xxiv) Monitoring departmental performance and preparing evaluation reports
(xxv) Supervising, developing, and motivating junior staff to improve performance
b) Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:-
(i) Have at least eight (8) years’ work experience, three (3) of which must have been
in a supervisory role;
(ii) Bachelor’s Degree in public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism,
Marketing or equivalent qualifications from a recognized college;
(iii) Master’s degree in public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism,
Marketing or a relevant field from a recognized institution
(iv) Be Member of professional body either PRSK or IPRA in good standing;
(v) Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized
institution.;
(vi) Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
