POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II (OUTREACH & CITIZEN
ENGAGEMENT) (JOB GROUP J/CASB10) – 1 POST
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Assisting in coordination of county assembly’s outreach initiatives by
providing communications, administrative, logistics or other support
that is necessary to meet operational needs;
(ii) Implementing and ensuring dissemination of guidelines for best
practice for outreach activities;
(iii) Implementing initiatives that increase county assembly visibility both
regionally and nationally e.g. through sports, conferences, effective
partnerships with other organizations, etc.;
(iv) Assisting in coordination of public participation and civic education
events;
(v) Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records of outreach activities
and public participation processes undertaken by the County
Assembly;
(vi) Maintaining a calendar of outreach activities, including public
participation events and other communication opportunities;
(vii) Assisting in coordinating information exchange with all stakeholders
and the public to ensure citizen expectations are met;
(viii) Providing effective linkages between the county assembly
headquarters and the ward offices;
(ix) Facilitating induction and periodic capacity building of ward staff;
(x) Any other relevant duty that may be assigned by from time to time.
(b) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
(i) A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business or Public Administration,
Political Science, Sociology, Law, International Studies, Development
Studies or any other relevant Social Science from a recognized
institution.
(ii) Proficiency in use of computer applications.
