Salary scale: Kshs. 48, 739 x 2, 690 -67, 569PM
House allowance: Kshs. 28,000
Commuter allowance: Kshs. 7,000
Annual leave allowance: Kshs. 1/3 of Basic Salary
Medical Cover: As per the existing KEWI Scheme
Terms of service: Permanent and pensionable
Job Description
The Information Communications Technology Officer, KW6 reports to the Principal
Information Communications Technology Officer, KW4.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
i. Designing and offering technology oriented academic programs
specifications;
ii. Supervising preparation of computer assisted teaching materials;
iii. Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
(routers, printers etc.);
iv. Check computer hardware (HDD, mousses, keyboards etc.) to ensure
functionality;
v. Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to
specifications;
vi. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software
and computer equipment;
vii. Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring
others from completing their work;
viii. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or
replace parts, debugging etc.);
ix. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule;
x. Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this scale, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
i. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ICT or Electronics/Electronic
Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Institution;
ii. Fulfill the requirement of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
In addition to the above requirements, an officer must have the following key
