JOB TITLE : CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER - GRADE NCIC 6 ( 1 POST )
Job Summary
This is an entry level position responsible for assisting in coordinating, managing and implementing both the internal and external communication for promotion of the Commission’s corporate identity and enhancement of its brand image by publicizing the Commission’s objectives, policies, achievement and activities.
Reporting to: Principal Corporate Communications Officer
Duties and responsibilities
I. Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities
I. Prepare and organizing forums where the Commission’s policies, programmes are propagated and promoted.
II. Monitor and analyze articles in the media pertaining to the Commission and making appropriate recommendations.
III. Prepare media supplements and documentaries, press/media releases and features.
IV. Develop a publicity framework for purposes of public awareness.
V. Maintain an up-to-date photo gallery or the Commission.
VI. Coordinate visibility actions through branding and other publicity strategies.
VII. Edit and produce of IEC materials, publication, press statements and writing opinion pieces.
VIII. Develop customer satisfaction measurement mechanisms.
IX. Coordinate media / advocacy forums. and
X. Develop dissemination strategy of the Commissions IEC and any other publicity materials.
II. Operational Responsibilities / Tasks –
I. Editing the Commission’s publications and journals for quality control.
II. Support in the development of information, education and communication material to meet the needs of various audiences to include brochures, videos, etc. and advise on the distribution.
III. Carry out the synthesis of technical reports and advisory opinions to produce simplified content for public consumption.
IV. Write press statements/release to ensure coverage of events of the commission design and package advertisements and edit them for quality publication of the material.
V. Monitor and evaluate of the Commission’s Corporate Communications programs in line with other programs and activities for accountability.
VI. Liaise with other sections and departments in developing programmes and strategies for promoting the Commission activities.
VII. Developing and updating a database for media contacts.
VIII. Establishing and maintaining good public relations with stakeholders
IX. Profiling and branding the Commission’s corporate image.
X. Maintaining all publics affairs and communications records.
XI. Maintaining a publicity framework for purposes of public awareness.
XII. Developing and implementing internal and external communication advocacy and media strategies.
XIII. Monitor media trends and prepare media supplements for documentaries, press releases and new feature articles touching on the commission’s newsletter and IEC material.
XIV. Maintaining an up-to-date dissemination data of the Commission’s IEC materials and any other publication.
Requirements for appointment
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following; Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Journalism, Mass Communication, Communication and media, Journalism and media studies or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
Member of Public Relations Society of Kenya or Media Council of Kenya or any other recognised professional body.

Remuneration
Basic salary : Ksh.56,775 – Ksh.80,000
House Allowance : Ksh.28,000
Commuter Allowance : Ksh.10,000
Airtime Allowance : Ksh.1,500
