Job Objective/Purpose
Overall cleanliness, proper linen management, waste management, pest control and infection control.

• Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure that clean linen, patient gowns etc. are readily available and supplied to the consultation rooms / wards per the daily requirements.
2. Ensure that linen is properly sorted, soaked, washed & disinfected per laid out infection control guidelines.
3. Maintain and safely store adequate linen stocks based on patient numbers.
4. Efficiently operate and maintain laundry machines.
5. Ensure that necessary cleaning supplies and detergents are available in adequate quantities.
6. Ensures that all laundry machines are in optimal working condition.
7. Report any shortages of consumables, malfunctions, breakage, or damage to the Head of Laundry so that appropriate action is taken to rectify the problem.
8. Ensure that infection control and safety regulations are strictly observed.
9. Ensure correct use of PPE at all times.
10. Supply clean linen for dirty linen presented to the laundry.
11. Receive and count linen from Parklands/Thika Hospital departments and AHC branches per the laid out guidelines.
12. Ironing of linen and proper use of calendar machine
13. Maintain client and patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
14. Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

Personal Specifications
1. Certificate/diploma in Housekeeping & Laundry
2. Familiar with laundry machines and detergents
3. 1 year experience in a similar role
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
5. Attention to detail
6. Result Oriented
7. Customer focus
