Our client is an upcoming school based in Nairobi County. They are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Science Teacher who can effectively teach Biology and Chemistry or Physics and Chemistry to students in accordance with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. The candidate must have at least five to seven years of teaching experience in science subjects and possess in-depth knowledge of biology and chemistry or physics and chemistry. This position requires an enthusiastic educator capable of inspiring students and fostering a love for science and scientific inquiry.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in Biology and Chemistry or Physics and Chemistry, aligning with the IGCSE curriculum and school guidelines.
• Create and implement instructional materials, lesson plans, and teaching aids to cater to various learning styles and abilities.
• Promote critical thinking and analytical skills among students while encouraging them to explore and discover scientific concepts independently.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ academic, emotional, and social development.
• Assess student performance regularly through tests, assignments, and examinations, providing timely feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
• Utilize technology effectively in the teaching process to enhance learning experiences and facilitate interactive learning.
• Collaborate with other science teachers and faculty members to develop and improve the science curriculum and teaching methods.
• Organize and supervise science-related extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, competitions, and field trips.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to update them on their child’s progress and address any concerns.
• Stay current with the latest science education developments and incorporate innovative teaching techniques into the classroom.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience teaching science subjects, preferably in a reputable secondary school setting.
• Familiarity with the IGCSE curriculum and previous experience teaching within this framework is essential.
• A teaching certification or licensure from a recognized accrediting body.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational abilities to effectively manage classroom activities, assessments, and administrative tasks.
• Passion for science education and a dedication to inspiring young minds in the field of science.
