position of Manager, Personal Banking & SME.
MANAGER, PERSONAL BANKING & SME

Three (3) year Contract

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Retail & SME, the Manager, Personal Banking and SME will be
responsible for leading the Personal Banking & SME business development, efficient operations
and effective customer service in the Retail segment.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
 Lead and coach a highly successful sales and service team focused on business
growth, deepening client relationships and consolidating business.
 Initiate, recruit and operationalize both funded and non-funded retails schemes across
the branch network.
 Assess market conditions, identify current and prospective sales opportunities, and
develop financial objectives and business plans for the Retail segment.
 Develop and implement sales and profitable plans to ensure achievement of branch
retail targets.
 Monitor daily branch sales performance ensuring sales and portfolio growth targets
are achieved.
 Manage performance of the Retail portfolio.
 Co-ordinate and report on the branches’ performance.
 Oversee and co-ordinate sales plans.
 Deliver an excellent client experience, improve client satisfaction and resolve
complaints.
 Ensure branch network service excellence through continuous monitoring of service
scores.
 Manage operational risk within the business environment in line with the approved
Bank policy.
 Build and develop a high performing team, through embedding performance
management and coaching.
 Co-ordinate branch wide PAR management reports.

Qualifications and Competencies
 Holder of bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized university.
 Possession of professional banking qualifications such as AKIB and/or CPA (K) will be
added advantage.
 Should have five to seven years’ working experience in business development in banking
industry, three of which should have been in supervisory role.
 Should have thorough knowledge and understanding of the banking industry.
 Should have excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
 Should have strong commercial orientation with the ability to network and develop
strong business relations.
 Should have strong leadership and people management skills with demonstrated
competencies in championing high performance management.
