Role Purpose
Reporting to the Credit Officer, the individual will be responsible for in-house debt recovery to ensure the society maintains acceptable credit risk level.
Key Responsibilities
• Systematic monitoring and collection of all delinquent cases for sub-standard, doubtful, loss and other category collectable in-house.
• Recovery management and maintaining default rate at stipulated levels.
• Circulation of reminders to loan defaulters.
• Debt collection to ensure members repay their loans.
• Attending to members inquiries/concerns on matters relating to their defaulted accounts.
• Drawing payment plans with debtors and keeping their records for audit purposes.
• Ensuring payment plans are honored by debtors as per the agreement and keeping track of account movement.
• Preparing of accurate account level collection report on monthly basis and presenting to your supervisor for review.
• Devise means and/or advice on any best way to manage risk exposures in the Sacco.
• Enhance Customer relations.
Essential Skills and Key Attributes
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Knowledge of SACCO products, services, and policies.
• Good planning, analytical and monitoring skills.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant Sacco policies, e.g., Credit, KYC, AML
• A good understanding of the target market and growth opportunities
• In-depth knowledge of modern Credit Management Systems & Processes.
• Excellent numerical analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business related degree or equivalent.
• Minimum section II of professional qualification in CCP (K) / CPA (K) / ACCA
• Membership to a professional body, ICM or ICPAK is an added advantage.
• A minimum of two (2) years progressive working experience in a Sacco set up or equivalent.
• Minimum KCSE Grade C.
• Must be aged between 21- 45 years.
