Job Description
Job Purpose
This is a senior management position reporting to the Managing Director, the job holder will be
responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies to ensure the sustainable
growth and profitability of the water and wastewater utility in Kenya. The role will require
providing leadership in the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies, customer
retention, customer service, billing, revenue collection, and customer information management.
Key Responsibilities
1) Develop and implement commercial strategies to ensure revenue growth and profitability.
2) Lead and manage a team of professionals responsible for sales, marketing, customer
service, billing, and revenue collection.
3) Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and reports.
4) Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
5) Monitor customer satisfaction levels and develop strategies to improve customer retention
and loyalty.
6) Analyze market trends and competition to identify opportunities and threats.
7) Develop and implement pricing strategies and policies.
8) Develop and implement strategies to improve customer information management.
9) Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or equivalent from a recognized
institution.
5 years’ experience, 2 of which must be in a commercial institution/water company at a
managerial level.
Must be a member of a professional body in good standing.
Background in revenue generation with demonstrated success.
Excellent working knowledge of a computerized billing software.
Knowledge of smart meter reading.
Good management and negotiation skills.
Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
