Job Purpose: The Nuclear Medicine Physician at the Hospital specializes in using radioactive substances
for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This position exists to provide accurate diagnoses and
treatment options, particularly in cases of complex medical conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform nuclear medicine procedures using advanced imaging equipment.
• Interpret imaging studies to guide patient treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient care.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in nuclear medicine.
• Ensure radiation safety protocols are strictly adhered to.
• Participate in research and clinical trials.
• Provide education and training to medical staff.
• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
i. Sub-specialty in Nuclear Medicine from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical
Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
ii. A Master of Medicine degree and specialization in Radiology from an institution recognized
by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
iii. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical
Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
iv. Served for a minimum period of nine (9) years relevant work, five (5) of which should have
been in a management position.
v. Evidence of having taken a leadership course.
vi. Retention in the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council register.
vii. Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
viii. Recognition as a sub-specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
ix. Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
x. Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
xi. Proficiency in computer applications.
xii. Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
