Job Description
Job Summary:
The position is responsible for supporting Waste Management entrepreneurs
(KCIC clients) to be become bankable or investor ready by providing client
tailored technical assistance and support to Start-ups, SMEs and Community
Based Organizations through business advisory services, business trainings,
coaching and linkages to financiers, markets and relevant resources.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide business advisory and financial analysis support to circularity
enterprises incubated in the programme;
2. Analyze and evaluate programme requirements to ensure alignment of
client’s strategy and the prevailing economic and technological
advances through conducting client baseline/assessments;
3. Coordinate capacity development initiatives for early-stage enterprises
through market feasibility studies, product development, customer
acquisition and revenue generation support;
4. Conduct research in waste management to support business
acceleration for portfolio clients;
5. Collect programme data for monitoring and evaluation;
6. Prepare financial models for enterprises to foster growth and scale up of
enterprises;
7. Review business performance of portfolio clients to develop bankable
business plans/ investment proposals/ Investment pitches;
8. Analyze business needs to inform technical requirements and propose
mentorship solutions to the identified business problems;
9. Identify business training needs for clients for appropriate technical and
capacity building interventions;
10.Coordinate events to promote the programme and develop
networking and marketing opportunities, and educate programme
entrepreneurs on waste management, entrepreneurship, and
innovation;
11.Maintain and monitor work schedules for periodic reporting to achieve
programme objectives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’ s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Professional qualifications in CPA, ACCA and CFA is desirable.
Experience:
• Over 3 years’ experience in business development services, strategic or
management consulting, or in providing technical business assistance
ideally working with startup, early-stage entrepreneurs, Community
Based Organizations, and Self Help `groups, with a preference to the
waste management sector
• Experience in the critical analysis of a business, investment plans and
financial statements;
• Familiarity with the Waste Management ecosystem in Kenya.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget planning and
oversight.
