Job Description
The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development wishes to recruit qualified professionals for the vacant positions outlined below on contract terms.
NURSE
The Nurse will work closely with the Head of Human resources in the Institute in managing the Institutes wellness center.
(a)Duties and Responsibilities will entail.
i)Counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate;
ii)Collects data through interview, evaluates data to identify causes of problems for referral to other specialists;
iii)Refer employees to appropriate service agencies as required;
iv)Perform routine procedures (pulses, temperatures and blood pressures, etc.);
v)Maintain the excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, etc.);
vi)Provide instant medical care in emergencies;
vii)Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for staff;
viii)Providing emotional support to staff;
ix)Provide professional advice on weight loss management;
x)Provide professional advice on diet and nutrition;
xi)Develop and disseminate IEC materials on topical health issues;
xii)Provide professional VCT services;
xiii)Advising staff and relatives on health-related issues;
xiv)Writing and maintain records.
(b)Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have.
i)Diploma in Nursing from a recognized Institution
ii)Two (2) years working experience
iii)Membership to a relevant professional body.
